Sea Sponge (female care)

Recently I've been reading about the dangers of tampons. The main concern is that the fabric is bleached and then sits in contact with delicate membrane, continuously leaching chemicals into our bloodstream.

I found this blog on pinterest about sea sponge tampons. What the heck is that? And why? Well sea sponges are natural. They are plucked from the sea and then washed and cut to a normal shape and size. They naturally contain minerals that are actually good for us to absorb!

I ordered from The Sea Sponge Company. They are based out of North Carolina and their website is adorable! If you have a blog and want to sample sea sponges for free there is simply a form you fill out. They also sell natural healthcare products. Check it out, your life may be changed.

Cards Against Humanity

Cards Against Humanity is a hilarious game. The box calls it, "a party game for horrible people."

The basic rules are:

Players get 10 white cards.
Each round a judge chooses a black card and reads it aloud to the group. Players then choose their funniest white card. (This is where it gets hilarious, or horrible.)
The judge chooses the card that they like the best.

You can only buy it online.. probably because it offends many people. But I think those people just don't know how to have fun.

This is the website:         Cards Against Humanity

Here's the link to buy it:        Buy Cards Against Humanity

Girls: TV show

I am in love with the show Girls. It is an HBO series.
The characters are so weird and interesting, but familiar at the same time. They are not the typical character types I'm used to seeing on every other show.

The premise is 4 girls (friends) are living in NYC trying to spread their wings and fly. They are trying to get jobs, keep jobs, deal with relationships, etc. The most amazing thing is that they are all friends - because they are so different!

If you haven't seen it, you should definitely check it out. I have to watch it every week because it is so good.

Lena Dunham is the producer and main character, Hannah. I'm sure you've heard of her. She's great.

Covergirl Blastflipstick

COVERGIRL has a new product out, and I'm sure you've seen the commercials. It is blastflipstick. Each stick has 2 shades -- one on each end. The possibilities are almost limitless. The lip color lasts! I was happily surprised.

I received samples from BzzAgent. While the colors don't ALL fit my skin tone, most of them do. And they look great. I gifted the one that doesn't look quite right on me to my sister. She can rock the red lips better than me. She hasn't stopped wearing it. I will post pictures.

COVERgirl BLASTflipSTICK  rating: A++

Soap

Recently I have been researching soap. I'm especially interested in homemade soap. The first reason is that it is better for you. You control the ingredients and can add or subtract whatever you like. One of the bonuses is that while it's setting your house smells wonderful!

So for the past couple months I've been experimenting with glycerin base and goat's milk base soaps. I bought essential oils and have been adding all kinds of natural exfoliators. I have used lime zest, orange peel, oatmeal, and more. My favorite is the lime zest because it gives the soap a little coloring.

For extra moisture I add some coconut oil. This soap does not give you the typical "fresh and clean" feeling. It does not strip your skin of natural oils and even leaves a layer of oil behind. After getting used to it, you realize it is a great feeling.

My favorite way to make the soap is to melt half goat's milk base and half glycerin base.I then add about 10 drops of essential grapefruit oil. I mix the 2 together and swirl a knife in the mold to make a little pattern. Then I sprinkle my lime zest on top. Sometimes I mix it throughout the whole mold.

Glade Expressions Collection

I've tried another product thanks to BzzAgent..

Glade Expressions Collection!

There are 2 kinds of fragrance - the Oil Diffuser and the room Spray. I got one of each for free with my BzzAgent coupons. I have a couple more discount coupons available.

I absolutely LOVE the room spray in the Cotton and Mandarin scent. It is so fresh and clean smelling. I use it in my bedroom in the morning. The room still smells fresh when I go to bed at night. I also use it near my dog's crate when it starts to get stinky. I have not tried any of the other spray scents -- but I may because I love this one so much.

I got the Oil Diffuser in the Pineapple and Mangosteen scent. I'm not sure if it is just the constant release of scent, but this scent is very overwhelming. We tried it in the kitchen and couldn't eat because it was so strong. Then it was moved to the living room, but it was still too strong. Now it is in the basement and doing a nice job of keeping it smelling good. Possibly it needs a bigger room (my kitchen and living room are relatively small).

I find mine at Target. I highly recommend these products.
